James C. Egan

James Egan was born and raised in Seattle and attended Seattle Public Schools. He graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington in 1994 with a degree in Philosophy. Mr. Egan honed his writing skills as the Editor-in-Chief of the Whitman College newspaper, The Whitman Pioneer. He traveled and spoke publicly with the Whitman College Debate Team and Theater Program. Mr. Egan then served as a public defense investigator with a Seattle area Public Defense Agency (SCRAP) over two years and published stories as a newspaper reporter for a weekly in Cornwall, Southwest England.

Appeal of denial of "silent videos" request made January 10, 2012

On January 10 we made a public disclosure request for copies of 36 Seattle Police Department videos, but with all of the audio redacted so that releasing them to us would not violate the Privacy Act. Our request was denied the very next day. Attached is our appeal to Chief Diaz to reverse the denial of our public disclosure request and provide the videos in a timely fashion.

Jay W. Wilkinson was born in Tacoma and lived there until his family relocated to Portland, Oregon. Jay has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Colorado College and attended law school at the University of Utah School of Law in Salt Lake City, Utah.
